What Can Social Media Do For You?

October 18, 2011

There’s no need to fear Social Media! The Hunterdon Chapter of NJAWBO is hosting a Breakfast seminar on Thursday, October 20 at 8:30 a.m.
Social Media has changed the way people communicate. Tools such as Facebook and Twitter helped the people of Egypt and Tunisia overthrow their despotic governments, allowed law enforcement to track criminal activity, and boosted donations to nonprofits. However, there are risks around social media as well. Identity thefts and hacking have skyrocketed in recent years, prompting many people to avoid using these tools. Some people are very private and do not want to share their personal information with the rest of the world. After all, nothing is perfect and there are risks associated with using these tools. We will discuss these topics and many more at this seminar. Whether you are for or against social media, this seminar will help you decide the best course for you. About the speaker:
David Deutsch is a Communications Strategist, Speaker/Author, Chinese Language & Culture Consultant. Mr. Deutsch holds a Masters in Communication Management from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Philosophy. An early adopter of social media technology, David has been in the social space since 2004 and continues in the growing conversation about “all things social.” He actively delivers social media training seminars across the United States and writes on a number of related topics.
David also speaks Mandarin Chinese like a very smart five-year-old. (Ask him about the time he was once run over by a giant pig…)
When: Thursday morning, October 20, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Where: Holiday Inn Select, 111 State Highway 173, Clinton, NJ 08809
